I use an integrative approach to psychotherapy using various evidence-based practices that are tailored to each client and their situation. The modalities that I have found the most helpful in supporting client’s growth are Mindfulness-based practices, Internal Family Systems, Motivational Interviewing, Psychodynamic, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
Substance and Alcohol use
Substance and alcohol use become an issue when someone is using it more than they would like, there have been negative consequences to the use, or it is getting in the way of other things that the individual wishes to be spending more time and energy on. There are varying degrees of substance use and I take pride in working with individuals from a non-judgmental perspective to help them determine for themselves if their substance use is out of balance and how to make the necessary changes.
Mental health occurs along a continuum, whether you are experiencing a mental health disorder that is impacting many areas of your life or you would like to experience more peace or contentment, I will work with you to get to an improved state of mental and emotional health. Some of the issues I primarily help with are:
Dual Diagnosis - a mental health and substance use diagnosis
In addition to mental health, I specialize in working with individuals dealing with significant life transitions, such as:
Transitioning to College
Launching into Adulthood
Loss of significant relationship
Different phases of partnerships
